To strengthen our cybersecurity defenses, the IT Security team has recently enabled an additional layer of web and browser protection on company-managed devices.

This enhancement helps protect against the growing number of malicious websites, fraudulent links, and AI-assisted cyber threats that are increasingly being used to target organizations and employees.

Why This Protection Was Enabled

Cybercriminals continue to use sophisticated techniques to:

• Redirect users to malicious websites
• Deliver malware through compromised links
• Steal authentication tokens and verification codes
• Capture saved browser passwords and browsing data
• Install malicious browser extensions
• Track user activity and harvest sensitive information
• Use AI-generated websites and content designed to appear legitimate

Even trusted websites can become compromised or host malicious advertisements, making web-based attacks one of the most common ways organizations are targeted.

What You May Notice

As part of this protection, some websites may be automatically blocked if they are identified as:

• Known malicious websites
• Newly registered or suspicious domains
• High-risk download sites
• Sites associated with phishing, credential theft, or malware activity

If a Legitimate Website Is Blocked

We are currently fine-tuning the security policies and may occasionally encounter false positives.

If you believe a website necessary for your work has been blocked incorrectly:

1. Take a screenshot of the block page if possible.
2. Copy the website URL.
3. Submit the information to the Help Desk to create a  ticket for us to review.
4. Include a brief description of the business purpose for the website.
5. You can Also report a false positive using the report button on the Crowdstrike popup window.

Our team will review the site and, if appropriate, add it to the approved list.

How You Can Help

• Continue exercising caution when clicking links from emails, text messages, Teams chats, or search engine results.
• Verify website addresses before entering credentials.
• Avoid installing browser extensions unless approved by IT.
• Report suspicious websites or browser behavior immediately.

This additional layer of protection is intended to reduce risk while allowing legitimate business activities to continue with minimal interruption.
