Overview

Your computer can connect to the VPN before you log in, allowing you to authenticate with your current password and access network resources immediately. This is useful when your password has recently changed or when working remotely.

Steps to Connect to VPN at Logon

Step 1: Access the VPN Option

  • At the Windows logon screen, look for the Network Sign-In or VPN icon (usually a small box or icon near the network settings).
  • Click the highlighted box to open the VPN connection prompt.

Step 2: Enter Credentials

  • Enter your current username and password.
  • Ensure you use your updated credentials if your password was recently changed.

Step 3: Establish VPN Connection

  • Once authenticated, the system will connect to the VPN.
  • This ensures your workstation can communicate with the domain controller and apply your current password.

Additional Notes

  • If the VPN option does not appear, confirm that the VPN client is installed and configured for pre-logon.
  • For persistent issues, contact IT at helpdesk@calgiant.com or ext. 777 (831-786-7477).
  • This feature is typically available on company-managed devices with VPN software configured for pre-logon.
