Some users may see this message when signing into Outlook, Teams, or other company apps on their iPhone:
“You cannot access this right now – Your sign-in was successful but does not meet the criteria to access this resource.”
Error Code: 53003
This happens when the iPhone does not meet the company’s security requirements (software updates, compliance checks, etc.).
Follow the steps below to update your device and verify you are compliant.
Keeping your iPhone updated is required for security and access to company apps.
Open Settings
Tap General
Tap Software Update
If an update is available, tap Download and Install
Enter your passcode if prompted
Wait for the update to finish and for your phone to reboot
Sometimes iPhones also need security rapid updates or app updates.
Go back to Settings > General > Software Update
Make sure everything shows “Up to date”
After updating your phone, you must confirm that your device meets all company requirements.
Find and open the Company Portal app (blue icon)
Sign in using your company email
Follow any prompts (passcode, device check, etc.)
In the Company Portal app, tap Devices
Select your iPhone
Tap Check Status or Sync
Wait for the compliance check to finish
