Fix Conference Room TV Screen Cut Off

Purpose

This article provides steps to resolve display issues where the conference room TV in the Operations Office appears zoomed in or cuts off parts of the screen.


Scope

  • Location: Operations Office – Conference Room
  • Devices: Any computer connected to the conference room TV
  • Users: All employees

Symptoms

Users may experience:

  • Screen appears zoomed in
  • Top or bottom of screen is cut off
  • Taskbar is not visible
  • Browser window does not fit the screen

Cause

This issue is typically caused by incorrect TV picture settings (most commonly not set to Gaming Mode).


Resolution / Steps

Primary Fix (Recommended)

Follow these steps using the TV remote:

  1. Grab the TV controller (remote)
  2. Click on Settings
  3. Select Picture Mode
  4. Set Picture Mode to "Gaming Mode"

✅ This will automatically fit the full screen to the TV.


Alternative Troubleshooting (If Needed)

Check Computer Display Settings

  1. Right-click on desktop → Display Settings
  2. Set Display Resolution to Recommended
  3. Set Scale to 100%

Check HDMI Connection

  • Ensure HDMI cable is securely connected
  • Try a different port if needed

Verification

Issue is resolved when:

  • Full screen is visible on the TV
  • Taskbar is no longer cut off
  • Applications display correctly

Escalation

If issue persists after setting Gaming Mode:

  • Restart the computer
  • Try a different laptop
