Camera Not Working ( Teams )

Applies To: Microsoft Teams

Symptoms

• Others cannot see your video during a Teams meeting.
• Your camera appears as a black screen.
• Teams displays a camera error.

Resolution

Step 1: Verify Camera Permissions

1. Click and open computer Settings.
2. Select Privacy & Security.
3. Select Camera.
4. Ensure Camera Access is turned On.
5. Ensure Let apps access your camera is turned On.
6. Ensure Microsoft Teams has permission to use the camera.

Step 2: Restart Teams

1. Close Microsoft Teams.
2. Reopen Teams.
3. Start or join a meeting and test your camera.

Step 3: Verify Camera Selection in Teams

1. Open Teams.
2. Select the three dots (...) in the upper-right corner.
3. Select Settings.
4. Select Devices.
5. Verify the correct camera is selected.

Contact IT If

• The camera is enabled but still does not work.
• The camera does not appear in Teams settings.
• Other applications cannot access the camera.
