Working from home

When working from home there's a few things that you should check to make sure you are able to:

• Connect to vpn
• Connect to Famous using Remote Desktop application
• Open Files from your computer desktop in the remote desktop application.

1.) First, lets connect to vpn. The vpn is your key to the network. (You will not be able to access Famous       without your vpn.)

On your computer desktop, you can find your vpn labeled as CISCO Anyconnect.

If it is installed, You can find it by either the desktop icon   

Or,

You can find it by typing "Cisco" in your desktop search bar. The application should be called Mobility Client.

2.) If it is not installed, you have the access to download it and install it on your desktop. (If Cisco is already installed, skip to number 3.)

To install cisco, you can go to www.straw.calgiant.com

 Once you are logged in you should see a page like this. 

Next, You will need to click on anyconnect link, on the left window pane.

Next you will need to click "Start Anyconnect"

Next click on "Download for Windows/Mac"

The file should save to the selected location. Then click logout on the top right of the page to logout of the vpn download page.

Double click the downloaded file and the installation process should start. Follow the wizard steps to install.

Click Accept, then Click Next.

Click Install to install the vpn. (If you are asked for Admin credentials please submit a ticket to helpdesk@calgiant.com for assistance.)

Once the wizard is complete, click finish to finish the installation.

3.) Once the program is installed, double click the application to start vpn.

In the address bar, you can type straw.calgiant.com 

Once the address has been typed, click connect and follow the login wizard with your calgiant login credentials.

Once you are logged in, you should see a notification that you are connected.

You can check your vpn application connection by also clicking on the upward arrow at the bottom right of your desktop next to your internet icon.

4.) Now that you are connected to cisco vpn, you will need to connect to famous using your remote desktop client.

You can find your remote desktop application by typing "remote" in the desktop searchbar.

Click on remote desktop to start application.

Your remote desktop application computer address should have farm.calgiant.com

Username is corp\( login username )

Once both fields are filled, lets check to make sure we can access the files from the desktop in the remote desktop application.

Next, we will add your desktop drives to your remote desktop to access the files from your desktop in the remote desktop application.

Click on the tab called " local resources "

Next, click one " more "

Next, Checkmark the boxes for "Ports" and "Drives" in order to access your desktop files. Then Click Ok.

Click OK to save settings.

Then you can click on the "General" Tab at the top to go back to the save settings button.

Click "save as" to save application to your desktop for ease of access. (Please rename the file as Famous.rdp and make sure to save it to your desktop.

Once your remote desktop settings are saved, You should see your Remote desktop icon.

Close the remote desktop window.

Then, double click the icon, fill out your calgiant login info to connect to Famous.

You should then see your Famous RDP session with a pink background.

Click on Famous icon to open Famous application. 

From here, the remote desktop application is pretty lockdown.

The applications for end users can be found By clicking on the windows icon on the bottom left of the screen.

To access files from your desktop such as edited PDF's, emails, etc. you will need to open file explorer from remote desktop.

Then Open the sub locations by click the arrow next to "This PC"

From here you will be able to work on files from your computer desktop, then import them to remote desktop to upload to Famous.
